Rise's still trying to find her feet a little when it comes to Bruce. She respects him for how smart he is and how much effort he's putting into compiling information about the city, something she's more than willing to help with, and she's glad he's someone that Tony can go to if he needs to. On the other hand, she struggles sometimes to know how to talk to him, to know exactly where the line is between what's fine and what might be seen as prying - more than anything, she feels the age gap between them far more than she does with anyone else she knows of a similar age.

One of the first people Rise met in Ariel. She found it reassuring to have someone more or less her own age to talk to about things, though the water event threw up a certain awkwardness that Rise can't forget - and which confirmed that she vastly prefers guys. Chika's a good friend, but not someone she feels as close to as some.

Disciple (Di) ➤ whomheloved

Di has become a very important person in Rise's life. Despite being a whole other species from a very different world, Rise has found that she and Di have a lot in common, from the obvious - their mischievous streak and overall demeanour - to the fact that Di, like Rise, has known what it is to be friendless and thus understands the difficulty in opening up to others. Because of that, Rise has found she can talk to Di about things she can't really talk about with anyone else. She's also come to find that Di is a pretty major exception to her otherwise solid preference for guys. Overall, Di is someone Rise sees as a role model, someone she looks up to a lot and is her inspiration for becoming more confident both sexually and in general.

Garrus is a fairly recent acquaintance and one Rise doesn't know well yet, but he's definitely someone she wants to get to know more. Partly because she's fascinated at getting to know another alien (who isn't one of the trolls) but also simply because the more she speaks to him, the more he strikes her as a decent person - and while she may not be helping his reputation by saying it, she can definitely see the underlying sweetness beneath what might to many be an intimidating appearance.

Ichigo Kurosaki ➤ cutupthemoon

Both times Rise's met Ichigo, she's quickly come to like him. Though she didn't know him well enough the first time to be too upset that he didn't remember her, she'd liked him well enough to make the effort a second time, to help him settle in again as best she could. And if that involved a little spontaneous sex during a chance meeting, well, it's hardly the worst way she's gotten to know someone in this city. She can only hope it's not going to backfire in the long term.

Jefferson has become something of a big brother figure to Rise. He encourages her without trying to tell her what to do or how to feel, which is something she appreciates, and he dotes on her without going overboard. While she certainly can't say she doesn't find him attractive, they've reached a point now where it would be like sleeping with her brother and that's a line she doesn't want to cross. And she's certainly glad that she gets to see more of him now they're living together - after losing so many people she was close to so closely together, she appreciates that she doesn't have to be entirely alone and that's all the more reason to make sure that line stays uncrossed.

As far as first meetings go, Rise and Leo's was certainly memorable and rather in keeping with the nature of where they are. Both hit by the heat event, Rise accosted Leo in the street and then, on discovering a certain anatomical change, dragged him to a sex store so she could buy and use a double-ended strap-on on him. As a result, she found herself equal parts awkward and apologetic in the aftermath, until he assured her that he wouldn't hold it against her. Spending time with him outside of the city's messing with them, she found herself warming to him - it's clear that he, like her, has felt the effects of the city on them and is trying to get by just as she is, and she's hoping they can become friends now they've had a chance to actually talk to each other.

Masaki Kurosaki ➤ shockshot

Rise doesn't know Masaki well, but she likes her well enough for how much they've spoken so far. They appear to share a romantic streak and a determination not to allow the city to destroy that, and Rise's keen to support the Welcoming Committee as much as she can, as much as she's able to. She's hoping they'll get a chance to actually hang out in time, because she could certainly use a few more female friends, particularly her own age.

Mikado Ryuugamine ➤ totallysane

Rise was immediately struck by Mikado's determination to take a positive approach to being in Ariel, something which mirrors her own intentions for the most part. Not so easy for her to handle when she's feeling less than positive herself but she's not above using his positivity to feed into her mask or to buoy her own ability to cope and she definitely appreciated his being able to make her smile even at a time when she was convinced she didn't want to be herself. She can only hope that the heat event hasn't left things awkward between them.

Nepeta Leijon ➤ moirailcompass
	♥♥♥♥♥♡♡♡♡♡ Nepeta caught Rise's attention fairly quickly for being both a troll and very reminiscent of Di - which made all the more sense when she confirmed a connection between the two. That alone is enough to see Rise hold Nepeta in fairly high regard and she's looking forward to spending more time with her and getting to know her better. First meeting: m2 d14

Peter Pevensie ➤ wunderking

Almost from the moment she met him, Rise warmed to Peter very quickly. She ran into him during one of her very lowest ebbs since her arrival in Ariel and appreciated the offer of company; what she hadn't anticipated was just how quickly they'd hit it off or just how well they'd understand each other. He provided a glimmer of hope at a time she desperately needed one and for that alone, she will always think fondly of him. Now, the more time they spend together the more she's coming to care for him and while the heat event could have made things awkward, the support he's offered her even in the wake of that and her appreciation of who he is has left a rather stronger bond and someone she can lean on without worrying so much for what the chips might provoke.

Psiioniic (Psii) ➤ biiowiired

At first, Rise found Psii a little on the grouchy side. But she persevered, kept talking to him and found that beneath the paranoia and the initial moodiness is a decent guy who she's come to warm to a lot. And tease, on occasion, because someone has to do it when Di isn't around and because while she appreciates his concerns about the place, she's not afraid to try and get him to lighten up on occasion.

Sephiroth ➤ youwillrot

Sephiroth was never someone Rise knew particularly well or knew much about. She'd spoken to him a couple of times and liked him well enough but there's only so much a couple of network conversations can reveal about someone. Either way, he had become to her mind someone decent enough who potentially was worth getting to know better.

Until he returned without memories and with a very different demeanour. At first, Rise couldn't help but suspect that this Sephiroth was the original's Shadow or something close to it. Tseng set her straight on exactly who and what Sephiroth is but not before Rise had already made the mistake of standing her ground and, in doing so, revealing her experience with Izanami. This put her squarely on Sephiroth's radar, though at first she hoped she could simply avoid him.

The truth became clearer a couple of days later when he found her face to face. Their meeting began as a civil if somewhat strained conversation over coffee but when Rise brought up the matter of Personas, Sephiroth sank his claws in further, issuing her with an ultimatum: find a way to summon her Persona within Ariel or die. Given that she's yet to have any hint of her Persona back and unaware that it's even possible to summon outside of the TV World this alone was enough to overwhelm her but he wasn't done with her yet. In order to seal her promise to him, he forced her to have sex with him while whispering terrible words of what he would do to the city and to her, further ensuring his hold over her and that she would tell no-one of what he'd done or the seemingly impossible task set before her. All she can do is try to act as normally as possible while waiting for her Persona to be returned and hope that she finds a way to give him what he wants without anyone else being hurt.

Signless ➤ ironbound

Mostly, Rise knows Signless as Di's partner/lover. She likes him and considers him a friendly acquaintance, but she doesn't know him as well as some of the other trolls. That said, she can understand why people were drawn to listen to him, and it hasn't stopped her getting drawn into things with him and Di all the same.

Summoner and Rise's friendship has largely centred on a mutual sharing of cultural differences - and similarities. He's friendly and definitely someone she's warmed to, and she admires his determination in trying to figure out more about Ariel and not let it beat him. She's also touched that he trusts her enough to include her in the group of people he's asked to hide out with, even if she doesn't like that he's in that situation - that he's not afraid to ask for her help really means a lot to her. And in the days he stayed with her, she found herself growing just a little fonder of him. And though the geas event saw them cross a line they hadn't previously, it's done nothing to weaken the bond between them.

Tony Stark ➤ gloryride

Tony has become like an uncle to Rise, an adult figure who doesn't treat her like a kid or try to tell her what to do. First bonding over their woes surrounding the water event, Rise found Tony to be someone she wanted to get to know more and, next time they met, she ended up taking care of a very drunk Tony. He returned the favour during her post re-ed drinking session, offering her company without demands for an explanation or judgement for what she'd done and then taking her home and helping her take care of the inevitable hangover. Not a bond she expected to find in Ariel but one she's grateful for all the same.

That said, it's not all been plain sailing. What began as a simple means for her to check that he was both still in the city and okay spiralled into an argument over whether or not she should be worried for him that (thanks in part to the city throwing other distractions in the way) saw them not speak to one another for almost a month. It was a chance run-in that saw her speaking to him again and though she's not sure what this means from here, she's at least glad they've had the chance to clear the air between them.

Tseng ➤ nogoodpeople

Tseng isn't someone Rise knows well, but he's still someone she considers significant to her, not so much for him as because she's aware he's in charge of the Turks and therefore she's more keenly aware than he's someone she needs to keep on the right side of. While she doesn't yet feel quite the personal connection to him that she did with Reno or Rude, his connection to them is enough to see her feeling comfortable living with him while she still gets to know him for who he is. And it's enough that she's making a concerted effort not to get him caught up in the situation with her and Sephiroth, even as he's the one person she knows who's already aware of who (what) Sephiroth is.

To date, Reno has been one of the biggest influences on Rise since her arrival in Ariel. He was her first which, by itself, made him pretty significant to her, particularly given how he handled their first attempt going somewhat awry. But from there, he became a significant presence in her life and through that, helped to leave her just a little better equipped to cope with being in the city. He taught her self-defence and, through his laid back attitude, he taught her how to let go of things, how to forgive herself when things didn't go entirely to plan.

She would never be able to put a word to what they were. What she does know is that she fell for him hard and that losing him hurt more than anyone else's departure in the time she's been in Ariel.

Rude ➤ alwaysthequietones

If it hadn't been for Reno, Rise's fairly certain she wouldn't have come to see Rude as much more than a fleeting conversation one day after work. Certainly, it was because of Reno that Rise found herself wanting to at least give off a good impression, though it wasn't until the ball that she really connected with him.

After the ball, Rise found she warmed to Rude more and more, enough that she felt comfortable in seeking out his company even without Reno around. She was never entirely sure what the dynamic between her, Rude and Reno was or exactly how it worked but Rude became important to her in his own right, showing her a side she never would have thought to look for. When Reno disappeared, it was Rude that snapped Rise out of her denial phase and had he not disappeared himself, there's every chance things might have gotten messy between them. As it is, Rude's absence is one she'll definitely feel even if she's not quite as devastated about it as she was over Reno being sent home.
